Because the integrity of our billing systems is critical to maintaining this premium experience, we have established this Refund and Cancellation Policy to ensure complete transparency regarding our financial practices.
This document legally governs how we handle subscription fees, recurring billing, cancellations, and requests for refunds. By registering an account, providing your payment information, and subscribing to any of our premium tiers (including the “Founding Member” tier), you explicitly acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the stipulations laid out in this document. If you do not agree with these billing practices, you must not provide your payment details or subscribe to our premium services.
2. General Subscription and Billing Terms To understand our refund rules, it is essential to understand how our subscription architecture operates.
2.1 Recurring Billing Architecture LeafLove operates on an automated, recurring subscription model. When you upgrade your account to a premium status, you are authorising us (and our designated third-party payment processors, such as Stripe or Authorize.net) to charge your selected payment method on a continuous, monthly basis.
Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you take specific action to cancel it before the renewal date. The billing cycle begins on the exact date and time your initial payment is successfully processed.
2.2 Immediate Access to Digital Goods Upon successful payment, our system instantly provisions your account with premium access. You immediately gain access to digital goods and services, including VIP profile badges, access to private groups, unlimited messaging capabilities, and proximity-based matching features. Because these digital services are delivered and accessible the exact second your payment clears, the transaction is considered complete and fulfilled immediately.
2.3 Responsibility for Payment Information You are strictly responsible for maintaining accurate and current billing information within your account profile. If a recurring charge fails due to an expired card, insufficient funds, or outdated billing details, our system will automatically attempt to retry the charge over a standard grace period. If the payment cannot be secured, your account will be automatically downgraded to the free tier, and you will lose access to all premium features until the outstanding balance is resolved.
3. The Refund Policy LeafLove enforces a strict, clearly defined policy regarding the return of funds.
3.1 Standard Non-Refundable Policy All sales are final. Because LeafLove provides immediate access to proprietary digital content, private communities, and digital matching services, we do not offer refunds, credits, or prorated adjustments for any subscription payments once the transaction has been processed.
When you pay for a month of premium access, you are paying for the availability of the service for that 30-day period, regardless of your actual usage. We will not issue refunds based on the following circumstances:
Lack of Use: You forgot about your subscription, did not log in, or chose not to use the premium features during the billing cycle.
Failure to Cancel: You intended to cancel your subscription but failed to do so before the automated renewal charge occurred.
Dissatisfaction: You are unhappy with the matches provided, the activity levels in the private groups, or the general user experience.
Account Downgrade: You chose to cancel or downgrade your account in the middle of an active billing cycle.
3.2 Account Suspensions and Terminations We take our community guidelines and Terms of Service very seriously. If our moderation team suspends or permanently bans your account due to a violation of our policies (including, but not limited to, harassment, spamming, identity theft, or posting prohibited content), you forfeit all remaining time on your subscription.
Under no circumstances will we issue a refund—partial or full—to a user whose account has been terminated for violating our Terms of Service.
3.3 Extenuating Technical Circumstances The only exception to our standard non-refundable policy occurs in the event of a documented, catastrophic technical failure strictly on our end.
If the LeafLove platform experiences an extended, unnotified server outage that prevents all members from accessing the service for a significant portion of their billing cycle, or if a confirmed error in our billing software results in a duplicate charge, we will review the situation. Any refunds or account credits issued under these specific technical circumstances are granted entirely at our sole discretion and do not establish a precedent for future refunds.
4. Statutory Rights and Jurisdictional Exceptions While our primary operations are based in the United States, we recognise that consumer protection laws vary by jurisdiction.
4.1 European Union and United Kingdom Residents If you reside in the European Union or the United Kingdom, consumer protection laws typically grant you a 14-day “cooling-off” period during which you can cancel an online purchase for any reason.
However, there is a strict legal exception for digital content. By subscribing to LeafLove Premium, you are purchasing digital content that is supplied immediately. During the checkout process, you explicitly consent to the immediate delivery of this digital service and acknowledge that, by doing so, you waive your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. As a result, the 14-day cooling-off period does not apply to LeafLove subscriptions.
4.2 Specific State Laws (United States) Certain states within the US have specific statutes regarding dating services and subscription cancellations. If you reside in a state that legally mandates a specific cancellation window with a prorated refund (such as a 3-day right to cancel), you must follow the specific instructions required by your state law. You must mail or deliver a signed and dated notice stating that you, the buyer, are cancelling the agreement. This physical notice must be sent to our official business address before midnight of the third business day after your initial purchase.
5. The Cancellation Process We believe in making the cancellation process as transparent and straightforward as the registration process. You have complete control over your subscription through your account settings.
5.1 How to Cancel Your Subscription To stop future billing, you must follow these exact steps:
Log in to your LeafLove account using your registered credentials.
Navigate to your Account Settings dashboard.
Select the Billing or Subscriptions tab.
Click the option to Cancel Subscription.
Follow the on-screen prompts until you receive a final confirmation message stating that your auto-renewal has been disabled.
5.2 Timing Your Cancellation You must complete the cancellation process before your next billing date. We strictly recommend cancelling at least 24 hours prior to your renewal date to ensure the request is processed by the payment gateway before the automated charge triggers.
5.3 Effects of Cancellation Cancelling your subscription does not instantly revoke your premium status. It simply disables the auto-renewal. You will continue to enjoy all premium features, including the VIP badges and private group access, until the exact date and time your current prepaid billing cycle expires. Once that cycle concludes, your account will smoothly transition to the free tier, and you will not be charged again.
5.4 Deleting Your Account vs. Cancelling Deleting your LeafLove profile or deleting the mobile application from your device does NOT cancel your subscription. If you delete your profile without first cancelling your active subscription through the billing dashboard, the payment processor will continue to charge your card. You must explicitly halt the financial subscription before removing your data from the platform. We are not liable for recurring charges that occur because a user deleted their profile but failed to cancel their billing agreement.
6. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes LeafLove operates a zero-tolerance policy regarding fraudulent chargebacks and payment disputes.
6.1 Definition of a Chargeback A chargeback occurs when you contact your bank or credit card provider to forcibly reverse a charge, rather than resolving the issue directly with our support team or using the standard cancellation tools provided in your account.
6.2 Consequences of Initiating a Chargeback If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute for a valid subscription charge that you simply forgot to cancel, we consider this a hostile action and a direct violation of our Terms of Service.
Upon receiving notification of a chargeback, we will take the following actions:
Immediate Account Termination: Your LeafLove account will be instantly and permanently banned. You will lose access to all messages, matches, and community data.
Dispute Defence: We will aggressively challenge the chargeback with your financial institution by submitting your IP address, login history, activity logs, and the electronic agreement you signed upon registration to prove the charge was legitimate.
Network Banning: Your email address, device ID, and IP address will be permanently blacklisted, preventing you from ever creating another account on the LeafLove platform.
6.3 Resolving Unrecognised Charges If you see a charge from LeafLove on your bank statement that you do not recognise, we strongly urge you to contact our support team immediately before contacting your bank. In many cases, these are simple misunderstandings (such as a spouse using a shared card) that our team can resolve quickly and amicably without the need for a destructive bank dispute.
7. Modifications to Pricing and Billing LeafLove retains the right to alter subscription pricing, introduce new premium tiers, or modify billing features at any time.
7.1 Notice of Price Changes If we plan to increase the price of your current subscription tier, we will provide you with clear, written notice via the email address associated with your account at least thirty (30) days prior to the change taking effect.
7.2 Your Right to Refuse If you do not agree to the new pricing structure, you maintain the absolute right to cancel your subscription before the new rate is applied to your next billing cycle.
7.3 The “Founding Member” Lifetime Rate As a special promotional offer, the first 5,000 users to subscribe to the “Founding Member” tier are granted a locked, lifetime price of $12.99 per month. This specific rate is immune to future price increases, subject to one strict condition: Your subscription must remain continuously active. If you cancel your Founding Member subscription, or if your payment fails and your account downgrades to the free tier, you permanently forfeit the locked $12.99 rate. If you choose to upgrade again in the future, you will be subject to whatever the current market price is for the premium tier at that time.
